How We Use Apivar in Our Operation

This allows customers who prefer to avoid conventional treatments to start with bees that align with their management approach.

That said, colony health always comes first. While we don’t use Apivar as part of our standard treatment regimen, we keep it on hand for emergency situations where immediate mite control is necessary. If we do have to treat a colony with Apivar, we ensure that it is removed from our sales inventory, requeened as soon as possible, and held for a minimum of 10 weeks before becoming eligible for sale, ensuring any bees exposed to treatment have cycled out of the hive.
