4 reusable traps per pack. One pack covers a full-sized hive, half a pack for a nuc. That's $4 or less per trap, and they last for years.

The Last Beetle Trap You'll Ever Buy

Small hive beetles run from your bees and hide in tight, dark spaces. The Beetle Crusher™ gives them exactly what they're looking for: a narrow gap across your top bars that your bees herd them into. During your next inspection, one firm press and they're done. No oil. No bait. No refills. Reset it and move on.

Built from durable plastic, designed to stay in the hive year-round, and reusable season after season.

How Many You Need

Full-sized hive 1 pack (4 traps)
Nucleus colony Half a pack (2 traps)
10-hive apiary 10 packs (bulk pricing below)

How It Works

  1. Place it. Press the Crusher onto the top bars of your brood box until the built-in legs seat level with the bar. A push with your hive tool or fingers sets the standard gap: beetles in, bees out. No marks to line up.
  2. Let your bees work. Bees naturally chase beetles into the trap's dark interior. It's their instinct doing the heavy lifting.
  3. Press and reset. During inspections, press down firmly to crush anything inside. Clean, reset, move on. Ten seconds per trap.

FAQ

What if one fails?
Send a photo or video and we'll make it right. Period. We back our gear like Callahan Auto (yes, that one).

How long do they last?
Years. They're designed as a one-time buy, not a consumable. Keep them in the hive year-round.

Will it hurt my bees or queen?
No. The legs set a gap sized for beetles, not bees, and you set it by feel instead of by eye. Level with the top bar is the baseline for standard comb. Small cell colonies run smaller bees, so press the trap slightly deeper until your bees can't enter.

What if my bees propolize it?
Scrape it clean and reset. Takes a few seconds.

Does it work with my other beetle traps?
Yes. It runs alongside any other SHB tool without interference.

What's it made of?
Injection molded from durable plastic, new for 2026. Molded in the Ozarks by a fellow beekeeper. Consistent strength, clean finish, built to stay in the hive year-round.

Beekeeper-Invented, Beekeeper-Refined

The Beetle Crusher™ started as beekeeper Dale Foley's clever DIY design for fighting small hive beetles without chemicals or oil. With his blessing, we refined it into a durable, repeatable tool built for long-term use. Every Crusher continues that tradition of practical beekeeper innovation.

Patent pending. Field-tested under real beetle pressure.
